It was about a month ago when we had our first break in. I woke up one morning and got myself and the kiddos ready to run some errands. We got in the car. I opened the driver door and saw my purse sitting on the driver's seat. I didn't put that there. So i started to look in it. My wallet..... It's gone! I then take the kids out of the car, and start looking in my house for my wallet. I tried to call Steven at work but he wasn't answering. I thought maybe he took it. By this time I started racking my brain. Ok Keri where did you last use your wallet, where did you last see it. I remembered using at Subway. That was the last place i used it. So i called them thinking i might of left it there. No, they didn't have my wallet. So i then thought, well where did i last see it. It took me about 10 minutes when i realized. Late the night before i had a sweet craving, and i had an airhead in my purse. So i went out to the garage, and got my purse and was looking for the airhead. I saw my wallet and then i found the airhead. I then put my purse back on the floor where i usually keep it. So, since i saw it the night before. I thought Steven must have taken it, maybe for lunch or something. I called Steven over and over, until he finally answered. I told him i couldn't find my wallet, and did he have it or take it. He said no. When then what the heck happened to it. He then remembered, he left the garage open last night on accident. He closed it when he left for work that morning. DING DING. We were robbed. I ran out to the garage to see what else was missing. Paint ball guns, goggles tons of random stuff. We called the police, and they came over to take finger prints. I was freaked out, for a while. I think Steven was too. We locked all the windows and made sure that our doors were always locked. But after a month or two we started to get a little lazy. Steven forgot to lock the outside door to the garage. And what do you know..... we were robbed again!!!!!!! This time they took a lot more expensive stuff, tools, snowboards, jackets, our gps, Steven's wallet and more. AHHHHHHHHH why does this keep happening. That same night people in our ward that live just down the street got robbed too. But the intruders went into their house and stole a huge flat screen tv. I do not feel safe in my house anymore. What if they came into our house too. I know that our door to the garage was open. It freaks me out to think while we are all upstairs sleeping that there were strangers in our garage taking whatever they wanted, and maybe even took a peek into our house. CREEPY!!!!! So now every night, i lay in bed terrified that they will come again. I wake up in the middle of the night and hear little noises, and get freaked out. Oh my gosh they're back. Steven has been getting up in the middle of the night and walking the streets to see if he sees anything. Nothing yet, but we are going to catch these guys. Steven is sooo pissed. He wants nothing more right now then to catch these people doing this to our neighborhood. And since the cops don't do anything. Steven is taking it upon himself to try to catch them. So everyone make sure your doors are always locked. Your garage is always closed, and remember you can't trust anybody these days.

Keri! I found your blog through Kyle and Elena's. We are so sorry to hear about the break-ins. That really sucks! I hope you guys find them and get your things back!
look for your stuff on ebay. they will probably try and sell it. that totally sucks tho. I hope steevo catches these dudes.
That is so scary! We never had a home security system until we moved to this house. Now that I have one, I recommend that everyone get one. I can't sleep at night unless I know the alarm is set. It is worth the $ you spend each month!!! Get one! Good luck, be safe!
